Global MAP Foundation runs free, physician-assistant-led programs that put San Diego young people inside real clinical and creative work — with the professionals who do it every day.
Youth Med-Surg Discovery · Grossmont Healthcare District, La Mesa
Three strands, ten programs, one idea underneath all of them: a young person changes course when they experience the work, not when they hear about it. Every program is free, and every one is taught by someone who does that job for a living.
Health literacy, body awareness and direct exposure to clinical practice. Our Youth Med-Surg Discovery program is the flagship.
Creative voice and technical craft, taught in working studios and galleries, ending with the students’ own work on a wall.
Practical tools for adulthood: money, enterprise, argument, study. In development, and the first place a sponsor’s money starts something new.

The talent did not disappear. The opportunities did.
Music, studio art, vocational training, debate, photography, strength and conditioning, basic laboratory science — stripped out of schools that could no longer afford them. The young people are the same. What they are offered is not. We put it back, free, taught by people who do the work for a living.
See what we have actually done
We announce dates about six weeks ahead and places are limited by how many clinicians and artists we can put in a room. Subscribers hear before anyone else.
Program dates, what we have delivered, and how to take part. A few emails a year, never more. We do not share your address with anyone, and you can unsubscribe from any email. For parents and adults — students should ask a parent to sign up.
